EVERY TUESDAY, AI JIN and two other young women from one of China’s underground urban Christian churches get together to pray—then walk the streets of a mafia-run red light district to tell girls as young as 13 who work in brothels that they can get out of prostitution. “Eight years ago, the average girl working in brothels was 25. Now it’s 14 and 15,” Ai Jin tells me. “I think it’ll get worse since it’s more difficult to find jobs, especially for girls from poor families with no education. They desperately need money to survive.”

Ai Jin and her two colleagues work with Mercy Outreach, an organization that offers prostitutes and trafficked women a safe home and alternative jobs. Started in 2003, Mercy Outreach is one of the first social enterprises of its kind based near the infamous “Golden Triangle”—the euphemistic name for one of the world’s busiest drug-trafficking routes. Running through Thailand, Burma, and Laos and bleeding into China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, it is a potent mix of extreme poverty, sex trafficking, rampant illicit drug production, and complicit local government leaders and warlords.

Ai Jin, 28, is part of a new breed of daring young women pioneers from the underground church reaching marginalized people, such as prostitutes, who had not previously been readily welcomed into house churches. “My pastor told me that what I’m doing in reaching out to prostitutes is what Jesus did,” Ai Jin says. “When I first started working at Mercy Outreach, I didn’t even want to shake hands with prostitutes. Every day I prayed for more love for the women. Now I can treat them like my own family.”

Ai Jin and her peers see their work as part of their contribution to building a civil society—unlike some underground church members in the past, who have traditionally steered clear of social service in the community because of persecution from authorities. “Social work is a new area in China,” Ai Jin says. “Most people don’t want to help prostitutes. Others don’t want to get in trouble with the mafia and pimps who control the girls.”

Ai Jin and others at Mercy Outreach—mostly women in their 20s and early 30s—boldly speak to mafia bosses and brothel owners to offer alternative vocational training and to point out that what they’re doing is morally wrong. She adds, “Just to be able to say to a person that what you’re doing is wrong can start a chain of events that can make a difference in a person’s life. We want to close one brothel at a time, reach one mafia boss at a time ... to reach the entire community for God.”

The organization provides free medical support and mental health services; it also runs a social enterprise selling jewelry made by rescued women and former prostitutes.

Every morning before the work day begins, more than a dozen women on the morning shift in the jewelry-making workshop get together in a room to sing hymns, pray, and read the Bible. Kun Li, a petite staff member in charge of the main safe house, sits quietly in a corner with her head bowed in prayer. She says seeing the changed lives of the girls makes the intense challenges of this ministry worthwhile. “A lot of times I wanted to give up. But I’m encouraged by the fruit—the girls who have moved on and haven’t forgotten Jesus,” she said.

EXACT NUMBERS OF trafficking victims in China and the Golden Triangle region are unknown due to the hidden nature of the crime. According to the U.S. State Department, the Chinese police reported rescuing 10,385 women and 5,933 children from trafficking in 2010 (the latter figure includes kidnapping for illegal adoption).

Trafficking, for forced marriages as well as prostitution, could increase dramatically in the years to come in China and the rest of Asia because of China’s unprecedented gender imbalance: There is the prospect of an alarming shortage of at least 24 million marriageable women by 2020. Dubbed the “bachelor time bomb,” this skewed ratio was brought on by the “one-child” family planning policy that China began in 1979. Families preferred boys to carry on the family name, leading to sex-selective abortions and infanticide.

During my trip to China earlier this year, Ai Jin helped arrange interviews for me. One was with a young woman named Mei Mei. With her trendy auburn highlighted hair, meticulously applied make-up, and green hoodie, the jovial 23-year-old could fit right in at any campus or trendy hotspot—but Mei is a survivor of bride-trafficking. At the age of 14, she was tricked by a family friend of a classmate, taken by train to a distant place, trapped in a house with high walls, and strategically starved for two weeks. She screamed for days, but finally told her captors, “I’ll marry whomever.”

The couple watching over Mei brought in several men to inspect her like a piece of meat, then sold her for less than $1,600 to a middle-aged farmer who couldn’t afford to marry the traditional way. He took Mei back to his home village and chained her up like a dog except when he wanted to have sex with her. Mei eventually became pregnant and, at the age of 15, gave birth to a baby girl.

Soon after, Mei ran away and was recruited by a pimp to work in a brothel. She was sent to prison for six months for working as a prostitute. “When I got out of jail,” she told me, “I felt so much self-hatred and was too ashamed to return to my family, so I went back to prostitution.” A year later, Mei contracted HIV, something she had never heard of.

The staff at Mercy Outreach pulled Mei out of a dark pit of drug addiction and suicidal thoughts. They gave her shelter, counseling, training, and a job in jewelry-making and made sure she took her HIV medication. With the help of Mercy Outreach, Mei made a decision to commit her life to Christ. Today, Mei is smiling, and has regained a sense of hope.

FROM BEIJING TO Hunan to southwest China to the Tibetan plateau, courageous Chinese Christians are fighting the scourge of sex trafficking and slavery. In Chiang Khong, a city in Thailand where a highway is being built to connect with China, a new base for Chinese missionaries engaged in anti-trafficking work is slated to start up. “This region is in a time of transition; the highway could bring even more crime and flow of trafficking victims,” says a member of Target Ministries, a small international missions agency with bases in U.S. and Africa, which is setting up the base.

On three separate occasions, he told me, he has come across bride trafficking in China where women were sold into marriage with much older men. He hopes to help foster “concerted efforts to help provide refuge for sex trafficking victims,” he says, and to help “the Chinese church to make inroads into the Golden Triangle.”

Ai Jin and others’ groundbreaking work is a picture of what is happening in the urban underground church in China. Slowly, Christians are wading into anti-trafficking work, preaching the good news to the afflicted, binding up the broken-hearted, and proclaiming liberty to the captives and freedom to prisoners. But it will involve a radical mindset change in a shame-based culture to reach a segment of society that is considered the most “sinful”: prostitutes, pimps, and the mafia, according to Andrew Chiang, a British Christian who lives in Beijing and is co-founder of Daybreak Asia, a social enterprise that builds bridges between China and U.S. “The church in China has the wrong theology—we need to reform the church. There are problems in society historically because the church hasn’t done what God has called them to do,” he says.

It is clear that Ai Jin feels a sense of calling to her work, but she has one other reason: Her 14-year-old cousin is a prostitute. “When I found out that my own cousin was working in a brothel and wasn’t willing to leave, I was so upset and wanted to quit the ministry. But God said to me that, if I quit, other families will ask you, ‘Why didn’t you help my daughter?’” she says with tears in her eyes. “This makes me believe God called me here. If God is calling me, I want to do this ministry for the rest of my life. It’s an honor, not a duty, to work here.”

Friday marks the 10th anniversary of the United States’ invasion of Afghanistan.

In his speech this summer on the war in Afghanistan, President Obama pledged that U.S. combat troops will all leave by the end of 2014.

In the latest news, however, U.S. military commander in Afghanistan, U.S. Marine Corps General John Allen, said that "while some folks might hear that we're departing in 2014 … we're actually going to be here for a long time."

In fact, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph has reported that the strategic agreement being negotiated between the U.S. and Afghanistan would allow thousands of troops to remain until 2024.

Sojourners produced this video to highlight the moral, human and financial costs of the war:

WAR NO MORE.

If the moral and financial costs weren’t enough to end the war, public opinion has turned against it, and its strategic importance has long been in question.

Tomorrow, the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will be more than $1.259 trillion.

Tomorrow, almost 14 million Americans will still be unemployed.

Tomorrow, the homes of more than 2,500 new U.S. families will enter foreclosure.

Tomorrow, one in seven U.S. households still won’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Tomorrow, one in four American children under the age of six will still be living below the poverty line.

Tomorrow, three billion people around the globe will still be living on less than $2.50 a day.

Tomorrow, 400 million children will still lack access to clean water.

Tomorrow, 300 children under the age of five will die in the Horn of Africa because of famine.

People are feeling crushed from all sides.

Parents who aren’t sure where their kid’s next meal will come from, and the college students who have tens of thousands of dollars in loans and can’t find a job.

Families that have lost their homes in bank foreclosures, and the tens of millions of people who live below the poverty line even though they HAVE jobs.

Problems in our nation and around the globe are huge, and the odds for overcoming them seem insurmountable.

The institutions and systems -- whether business or government -- meant to serve the people, seem beyond the reach of basic human kindness and completely unaccountable.

And the ever-widening gap between the very top one percent who control more wealth than the bottom 99 percent is a recipe for disastrous social instability and unrest.

The new movement called Occupy Wall Street now has spread across the country, from the very seats of our political and financial power and our largest cities, to suburbs and small towns. In some communities small groups of a few dozen have formed, and in some cities thousands have gathered.

In each instance, no matter the size, people’s frustrations, hurts, and feelings of being betrayed by our nation’s politicians and economic leaders are clear. They want to be heard.

We will likely see images and hear things from Occupy Wall Street demonstrators that will offend us and some that will inspire.

We’ll hear demands that we agree with and some that we don’t.

And that’s OK.

The Occupy Wall Street protests make some people nervous, while others scratch their heads, and more than a few grab their sleeping bags and join in.

There is a lot of speculation as to who the "Occupiers" are and what they might accomplish. There is much I still don’t know about the movement, but undeniably it has caught the imagination of a generation -- and that matters.

Here are a few things I do know about the Occupy Wall Street protesters:

When they stand with the poor, they stand with Jesus.

When they stand with the hungry, they stand with Jesus.

When they stand for those without a job or a home, they stand with Jesus.

When they are peaceful, nonviolent, and love their neighbors (even the ones they don’t agree with and who don’t agree with them), they are walking as Jesus walked.

When they talk about holding banks and corporations accountable, they sound like Jesus and the biblical prophets before him, who all spoke about holding the wealthy and powerful accountable.

Pray for those out on the streets.

Think of ways that you or your church can be Jesus to them.

And do one of the things that church folks do best: Bring them a covered casserole!

Take your church potluck down to the occupations. Sit, eat, and talk with the protesters. Offer them the sacred gifts of hospitality, company, and friendship.

Or a hot cup of coffee.

Or send them a pizza. (Think of it as a peace-za.)

The Occupiers' desire for change and willingness to take action to do something about it should be an inspiration to us all.

It is for me that, even after 10 years of war, we can still act and pray for peace.

For as Isaiah 2:4 says: "[God] will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore."

Tomorrow I’ll be in New York City, where I will head to the financial district to visit with Occupy Wall Street demonstrators, because they are carrying on the most interesting conversation going on in that city -- or any other -- right now.

Besides, I love a good potluck or pizza party where people imagine a better world.

Anointed Caleb Awuah - They say Osama Bin Ladin has been killed, I see a lot of people even Christians rejoicing about it. though He was wrong for putting not America but the world to a great sorrow. We should even check where He is going. Jesus came to save people like Him and not to seek their perishing. A lot of pastor and Christians has failed for rejoicing over the death of a sinful man. What would you do when we enter Heaven and saw OSAMA BIN LADIN sitting at the right hand of GOD. You would be ashamed if you rejoice over his death. Am no sure heaven would be happy by seeing OSAMA being dead in HIS Sin.

We preach the Gospel to sinners not those who are already saved. so if you are praying or seeking all sinners death, shame on you. you are not the preacher of the Gospel and this is not the mind of God "Peter said "It is not the mind of God for anybody to perish but all men to come to repentance.

How Should Religious People Respond To Bin Laden's Death?

WASHINGTON (RNS) Jesus said "love your enemies." If only he had said how we should react when they die at our own hands.

After President Obama announced that al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had been shot dead in Pakistan, ebullient crowds gathered outside the White House and at Ground Zero to cheer the demise of the world's most wanted terrorist, smoking cigars and breaking into chest-thumping chants of "USA! USA!"

Watching from her home in suburban Virginia, Christian ethicist Diana Butler Bass felt a growing sense of unease.

"What if we responded in reverent prayer and quiet introspection instead of patriotic frenzy?" she posted on Facebook. "That would be truly American exceptionalism."

At the Vatican, too, where church leaders had just wrapped up joyous celebrations elevating the late Pope John Paul II to one step below sainthood, officials urged caution.

"A Christian never rejoices" in the death of any man, no matter how evil, Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said, but instead "reflects on the serious responsibility of each and every one of us has before God and before man."

For many Americans, bin Laden's death was quite literally an answer to prayer. Muslims who saw bin Laden as an apostate breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Ethicists and pastors searched for the appropriate space between vindication and vengeance.

U.S. special forces did what they had to do. How everyone else is supposed to feel about it is a little less clear.

"As Christians, we believe that there can be no celebrating, no dancing in the streets, no joy, in relation to the death of Osama bin Laden," Christian ethicist David Gushee said. "In obedience to Scripture, there can be no rejoicing when our enemies fall."

Indeed, the Hebrew prophet Ezekiel warned that our enemies are not necessarily God's, who takes "no pleasure in the death of wicked people," preferring only that they "turn from their wicked ways so they can live."

The questions around bin Laden's demise tended to break into two different camps: Were we right to kill him? And is his death something to cheer?

For many, what set bin Laden apart was his defiance, unrepentant violence and coldly calculating designs to rain destruction upon Americans, innocent civilians and even fellow Muslims.

"While vengeance is not a responsibility of us mortals, the pursuit of justice is," said a statement from Agudath Israel, an Orthodox umbrella group. "As believing Jews, we see in bin Laden's demise the clear hand of God."

In a larger sense, removing the singular threat of bin Laden can also lessen the violent threat of radical extremism and terrorism. Put another way, taking one life can save countless others.

"It is a sad truth that one man's death can represent a step forward in the progress of human relations," said Zainab Al-Suwaij, president of the Washington-based American Islamic Congress.

For many people, bin Laden's guilt or innocence never needed to be adjudicated in a court of law, and an American bullet to his head was judgment enough. Scholars cautioned, however, that there's a difference between judging a man's actions and judging his soul.

The Rev. John Langan, a Jesuit professor of Christian ethics at Georgetown University, said killing bin Laden to prevent future attacks is morally valid, but cautioned that vengeance is ultimately a divine, not human, right.

"I knew people who died in 9/11," Langan said. "I feel deeply the evil of that action. But I am part of a religious tradition that says that we don't make final, independent judgments about the souls of other men. That rests with God."

Which all leads back to Americans' response to the death of a madman.

"You have to have compassion, even for your enemies," said A. Rashied Omar, a research scholar at the University of Notre Dame's Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies.

"The Quran teaches that you never should allow enmity to swerve you away from compassion, because without compassion, the pursuit of justice risks becoming a cycle of revenge."

Others said there is a difference between rejoicing in bin Laden's death and finding a certain degree of satisfaction -- a "subtle but important difference," said the Rev. Jay Emerson Johnson, an Episcopal priest who teaches at the Pacific School of Religion.

"I'm not sorry Bin Laden is dead," Johnson posted on Twitter. "That's not the same thing as celebrating his death."

And that, perhaps, is where Americans will live in the coming days and weeks, caught in the gray space between satisfaction and celebration, glad that bin Laden is finally gone but not wanting to dance on anyone's grave.

"Without apology, we all sleep better in our beds knowing that Osama bin Laden is no longer a threat," said R. Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. "But celebration in the streets is something that falls short of the sobriety
that I think Christians should have on our hearts in reflecting on this event."

Celebrating a Death

It is a strange and conflicting emotion to celebrate a death. My professed beliefs include the redemption of evil and the potential good in all humanity. Yet I felt a sense of exhilaration when I read the headline "DEAD" about Osama bin Laden.

For the last 10 years Osama bin Laden has exemplified the absolute worst of religion. He was a fundamentalist and a zealot in his own belief and willing to kill those who believed differently; he recruited young people into his ranks by preying on their despair; and he carried out violence in the name of God. Through actions and belief, Osama bin Laden profaned the name of God and denigrated all people of faith.

Osama bin Laden never felt any remorse for his murderous ways and the heartbreak that trailed behind him. He viewed his actions as part of a struggle that allowed him to transcend any moral concerns. He and his followers routinely slaughtered the innocent. He was ruthless in using faith as a means to the very worst ends. To reiterate what the President said in his announcement of bin Laden's death: "Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader, he was a mass murderer of Muslims." His death is satisfying not only because of what he did, but because it prevents him from doing any more violence in the future in the name of religion.

When I think of bin Laden I think of evil.

But I have to be careful in my celebrations of bin Laden's death. I was a chaplain at Columbia University during Sept. 11, 2001. Two days after the attacks, some of my students put on an art exhibit in response called Peace Kitchen. In one piece a student had put a film of bin Laden's face over a mirror so we saw our own face staring back at us through his. The point was not that there was equivalency between bin Laden and us, but to acknowledge that evil is not something that only exists outside of us that we can point to and kill once and for all. Evil doesn't work like that. All humans have the potential for grace, but we also all have the potential to sin and do evil. It is a tempting yet dangerous practice to look around the world for evil people and target them. That is just what Osama bin Laden thought he was doing. We must be vigilant that we do not become what we despise. We must be careful in the way we use religion and the name of God to further our own causes or to ever manipulate people into hate.

So, let us mute our celebrations. Let any satisfaction be grim and grounded in the foundation of justice for all who have suffered at bin Laden's bloody hands. And also justice for crimes against God -- for using God as an instrument of terror and and promoting distrust between peoples of different religions and nations. Let us put bin Laden's body in the ground, and in doing so bury his disastrous and blasphemous religious legacy.

Ultimately, judgment is not ours to make. But I believe in a just God and I believe that Osama bin Laden, for all the talk of rewards in heaven, will not be enjoying his meeting with the God of Creation.

How Should We Respond to the Death of Osama bin Laden?

This morning most Americans are feeling a sense of relief at the news that Osama bin Laden is dead. He was truly an apostle of hate, a dedicated purveyor of violence in response to every grievance, a manipulator and distorter of religion for political purposes, and a man responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. Nevertheless, it is never a Christian response to celebrate the death of any human being, even one so given over to the face of evil. Violence is always an indication of our failure to resolve our conflicts by peaceful means, and is always an occasion for deeper reflection.

A brief statement from the Vatican this morning says it well:

“Osama bin Laden, as we all know, bore the most serious responsibility for spreading divisions and hatred among populations, causing the deaths of innumerable people, and manipulating religions to this end,” said Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, the Vatican spokesman, who released a brief written statement reacting to the news.
“In the face of a man’s death, a Christian never rejoices, but reflects on the serious responsibilities of each person before God and before men, and hopes and works so that every event may be the occasion for the further growth of peace and not of hatred.”

The Bible takes evil seriously and clearly says that evildoers should be held accountable for their deeds, and the state has the legitimate and important role of bringing to justice those who perpetrate terrible crimes. Osama bin Laden was perhaps the most monstrous face of the monster of terrorism in our time. But killing bin Laden has certainly not ended the problem or threat of terrorism. And it also does not vindicate the decade of perpetual war, which has been the U.S. response to the horrible attacks on 9/11 that have also resulted in thousands of other innocent casualties in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Indeed, the problem of war is how indiscriminate it is. And it is worth noting that the special forces action that resulted in the death of bin Laden was a very focused effort to bring one perpetrator to justice, rather than just another act of war. We didn’t get bin Laden as a casualty of bombing raids or drone attacks on the city that harbored him; instead, this was the result of careful intelligence and a laser-like focus on the man most responsible for9/11. Some of us believe that should have been the U.S. strategy from the beginning.

But the death of bin Laden must become an important historical moment of reflection. How do we best respond to evil and those who perpetrate it? What have we learned in the last 10 years about what truly is the best answer to the violence of terrorism? How do we change the conditions that have allowed terrorists to pull others into their agenda? In this fallen world we are often faced with imperfect choices in response to the clear dangers of evil. Religious wisdom always has us look also at ourselves and what opportunities we have to be makers of peace. As Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once said, “Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but right through every human heart, and through all human hearts.”

What must be said, as was strongly stated last night by President Obama, is that America is not, nor has it ever been, at war with Islam or the Muslim world. As many have pointed out, many of the victims of Osama bin Ladenand his al Qaeda network were Muslims, both in the U.S. and around the world. It is indeed time to unite with our many faiths around a serious strategy for building peace.

Before the news last night, it was clear that Osama bin Laden was already losing. The “Arab Spring” of young Arabs and Muslims through nonviolent democratic movements has been a repudiation of bin Laden and his radical terrorist agenda. The death of Osama bin Laden could be a turning point in our ability to both resist evil and seek good, to turn away from the logic of both terrorism and war, and, as the Bible says, to find the things “that make for peace.”

The Church Called to Rebellion

People can take a certain amount of oppression. However, when it gets beyond their ability to tolerate, they rebel. This seems to be the time of rebellion in the Middle East and North Africa. The masses in Egypt and in Tunisia had been ruled by dictators for too long, so the people went to the streets to say, “Enough is enough.”
We don’t know how successful all of these uprisings will be and what kind of governments they may produce. However, we take hope as we consider historical examples such as the masses that revolted in the former Soviet Republics and succeeded in overthrowing their dictators. Or the millions who protested in South Africa and put an end to the apartheid regime. There are many other instances where successful revolts brought down dictators and created new countries with constitutions that serve the people.

Yet there are also revolts, such as the Palestinian uprisings and the opposition uprising in Iran, that so far have failed. The New Testament calls us to rebel. Jesus and his followers were the rebels of their day. The apostle Paul called believers everywhere to rebel. The early church was a rebellious community. But God calls us to a different kind of rebellion — and perhaps this revolt is more difficult and radical than any other kind.
In Colossians 3: 5-17, we are called to rebel, put to death, kill, and slaughter some dangerous enemies. To avoid miscommunication, let me be clear: These enemies live within us.
The apostle is saying that in us, as humans, we may have forces similar to members of a ruling party in a government. If these are oppressing us, we need to overthrow them. And if they do not get out, we must put them to death. Paul is advocating for a revolution — a rebellion that each of us must wage within himself or herself in order to change our world. In political thinking, people often say, “If only we could get rid of this politician!” or “If only we can get rid of this regime!” or “If only we can get rid of this party! Only then will we have peace.” We should not minimize the significance of oppressed people rebelling against ruthless governments. However, each of us must first face the dictators that are within us.

What are these forces within us that we need to overthrow? Firstly, “fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry).” These immoral forces are found in politicians in almost every country. However, Paul was not addressing the moral standards of the rulers of his day. He was more interested in the moral standards of the members of the body of Christ. And there is a list of another five immoral forces that the apostle admonishes us to overthrow: “anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language.” After all, these are the forces that cause people to hate, fight, kill, and insult each other. I have watched many political debates on television in which lawmakers and politicians began cursing and even fighting one another with fists. We look at scenes like these and we shake our heads.

In verses 9 to 10, Paul writes: “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” If WikiLeaks and the Palestine Papers have done anything, they have exposed the lies of many politicians who said one thing behind closed doors and something else in public. Both Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and Zine El Abidine Ben Ali of Tunisia made statements behind closed doors that angered their people. Paul would not be surprised to know that politicians lie, but he was specifically addressing God’s people when he said, “Do not lie to each other.” Let us overthrow lying. Let us put to death falsehood and insincerity. We have the right to protest when people tell us lies, but we must also fight and kill the lies that we ourselves hide behind.

In a similar manner, Paul calls us to rebel against, overthrow, and kill the immoral force of racial discrimination or prejudice. Many politicians today rise to power because they read their constituents’ minds and hearts, and they know that many people in their country hate a certain segment of the society. In turn, they preach a message of racial discrimination and hate in order to get elected. Some of the top politicians in Israel today are in their positions because of their hatred of Arabs and some of the top Palestinian politicians are in theirs because of their hatred of Jews. Hatred based on race or religion is manipulated and used by politicians on all sides of this and other conflicts. In Europe, there is a new wave of discrimination against minorities. The apostle, however, is more concerned about the spiritual condition of the men and women who are members of the body of Christ. He calls them to rebel, overthrow, and kill racial discrimination in their hearts. Notice what Paul writes in verse 11: “Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.”
“Here” refers to the body of Christ. “Here” we are all equal. “Here” we are all loved the same and given all the privileges through Jesus Christ.
And yet, the church today is controlled by forces and powers that need to go. We need to get rid of the old regimes and replace them with regimes under the control of the Spirit of God. Let each of us start the rebellion — and let us start it in our own hearts.

   Come up higher and rise above all crooked, dishonest, perverse, tyrannical, unfair, unjust, wicked treatment given and received by you from people in the world who are in authority over you and by those believers, CHRIST followers or other brethren in CHRIST who have authority and rule over you… It is the LORD JESUS the CHRIST the anointed one with power on flesh who is your advocate and mediator who will vindicate you with our Heavenly FATHER invoking HIS presence to bring HIS promises of blessing or judgment, vengeance and W.R.A.T.H. (War and Revenge Against The Heathens) as punishment for those who have harmed, injured or mistreated HIS elect and chosen without HIS permission…
   The living GOD has called us to come up higher and rise above all the challenges, circumstances, obstacles, problems and roadblocks of the world!

It happened a few days after my father's death, in that mind-numbing period of adjustment after someone we love leaves us. Having gone shopping for necessities for my trip back to my own home, I was standing in an otherwise empty aisle of a large chain store when suddenly I sneezed, the last vestiges of an allergy attack I'd fought earlier in the week.

Almost instantly, from the next aisle over I heard a voice call out, "Bless you," and then another, and another, and yet another. All in all, in the span of only a few seconds, I counted eleven different voices coming from every possible direction in the store, some saying "God bless you," others using the word "gezundheit," but all blessing me, all calling good down upon me.

At first I thought little of it. After all the idea of blessing someone when they sneeze is rooted in superstition, an archaic belief that in the act of sneezing the soul is thrown from the body, and a blessing is needed for spiritual protection.

Today, it is usually offered as no more than a courtesy, a polite response that has come to be socially accepted and expected. But on that particular day, in the first few moments following all those blessings being called out to me, I began to notice a difference in myself: A slight shift in perception that left me feeling more connected and empowered than I had in days. It also left me, for the first time since my father's passing, more confident that everything would be all right.

Driving back to my father's house that day, I continued periodic "feelings" checks, marveling at how much stronger I felt. Later, sitting in my parent's kitchen for what would be one of the last times, I recounted the story to my stepmother. "Do you think any of them realized what they were saying?" she asked. "Or was it just out of habit?"

"Just habit," I answered with a shrug, thinking about what a shame it was that people could give such a needed gift as a blessing and not even be aware of what they had done. "It should be a habit, this business of blessing others," I said a moment later. "But it would be nice if people actually knew they could and were making a difference."

A seed was planted that day and two years later it sprouted, awakening me one morning to a gentle soul-whisper that poured forth as the words of a special blessing. Feeling compelled to take pen and paper from my nightstand, I prodded myself into full wakefulness and then sat on the edge of the bed, like a secretary poised for dictation, pen ready to capture each syllable as the inspired words flowed into my awareness.

Because of the power of the Internet, those words have since been sent across the planet and read by millions, and as a result, I have received thousands of letters from people telling me how May You Be Blessed has impacted their lives. And in each and every instance I have found myself blessed in return.

I have often wondered since if my new found work as a dispatcher of blessings is the result of a serendipitous accident that placed me in a crowded store on a day when I was both prone to sneeze, and to listen to subtle nudges from the heart. Or was it, perhaps, that my father's gentle spirit was present that day, inspiring others to offer blessings so that I might be lifted up?

Of course, it is a question I cannot answer, but I do know that since that time my life has changed remarkably. Each day is now entirely centered on the act of blessing and I have come to recognize it not only as one of the most powerful and practical ways we have for reconnecting with each other, our world and Life itself, but also the most phenomenal way possible to lead us to happiness and success. It is a discovery I now endeavor daily to share with all.

A blessing, I have come to realize, is a sweet release from pain; a sacred reminder that we are made of love and light and goodness and, as such, part of a greater and most wondrous whole. It is an ancient key to a successful and fulfilling life.
Today, whenever I share with others this phenomenal key, explaining how, as we each develop the habit of blessing others we are blessing our own lives, as well, I feel as if I have been given a wonderful gift. I realize once again how truly blessed I am. It is my hope that as you read this book and allow the words of this blessing to enter your heart, you will be blessed in return. I could not ask for anything sweeter to my soul than that.

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
I am Pastor Robert Musinguzi who was called at the age of 22 to serve the Lord.12 years later, I founded the Light of life ministries and now I am a senior Pastor of Light of Life worship center.
Born in 1971 at Kiguma village, 7 kms from Fort-Portal town, I grew up as a miracle baby after my father was murdered by soldiers of the former Dictator/President Amin, when I was only 1 year old.
Through thick and thin my mother labored to raise me up. By God’s Mercy I also survived several obstacles especially when I dropped out of school due to lack of fees. Still God’s mighty hand kept me through until 1997, when I met Jesus through a voice saying “before I formed you in your mother’s womb, and before you were born, I knew you. Today I have placed you an apostolic spirit upon you. I am going to use you in many nations of the world”. Since then my life has changed for the better (Isaiah 61:1-3, Jer 1: 5 – 16.)
Today, I host 5 million weekly listeners programme on the local radio voice of Tooro under the Theme “Loose that man and let him go”. So many souls have been delivered in Jesus’ name. It covers the western region of the country, eastern Congo and Rwanda.
• I host the annual regional prayer cover every January:- an interdenominational event bringing several people from western region and beyond to intercede for the nation and land.
• I also host an annual women’s of Integrity conference every March.
• Leader and shepherds conference every May.
• Prophetic and apostolic anointing conference every July
• Prophetic independence watch night event every Oct 9th
My child’s life left me with a burning desire to help give a hand to the orphans, the disabled children, windows and the marginalized people in the society under several programmes in our ministry all geared to foster development and economical independence in the society namely:
. The orphans support programmes- to help the ever-growing number of orphans due to AIDS, civil strive; it also helps child headed families.
. The widows and elderly programmes to cater for the widows and other disadvantaged groups of people to be economically empowered.
. The proposed orphanage center: - to care, shelter and promote orphans’ basic needs in the region.
. The proposed vocational college – to impact skills to orphans, school dropouts and the youth to be economically active to meet challenges in the society.
. Credit revolving fund- to cater for the active poor financial needs.
In the above five programmes some are in initial stages while others are long term but they are all integrated into a single proposal which can be available on request.
Since 2005 the Lord has added on believers day by day. To date by God’s grace the ministry has over 10 branch churches spread over the region and it keeps growing every day.

I was born in a Hindu Idol Worshiping family. Where my father was a police constable during Pre-Independent India, British rule was here in India. With the miraculous healing of my fathers elephantiasis sickness came to the Lord and voluntarily resigned his job, with the call of God began the ministry. And when I was 21 years young man, I fell sick with the double typhoid, reached the death bed, at that time I was exhorted by my father to make a commitment to the Lord – at that time I committed my whole to Jesus and to the proclamation of the gospel. Later I had been to Bible College and worked as a Bible School teacher for a while, with the leading of the Lord started pioneering ministry with out anybodies support. The Lord began to bless the ministry through wonders and miracles. Many Hindu people have tasted the love of Jesus Christ. And I have been preaching in churches, conventions, pastors, leader's conferences. Where as the Lord has given me vision to start the Word of Life Ministries to be more effective ministry to the people likewise establishing Orphanage, supporting pastors/bible women, ministry among the leprosy. I need your cooperation in the ministry projects.

   My wife name is 'Sathya' she assists me in the ministry, God has given me great helpmate to me, and I am proud in the Lord my children obeys the Lord and passionate for the work of the Lord. I have 3 sons, and 1 daughter –2 sons are in the full time ministry, 1 son pursuing job and daughter is doing her education. God is Good. Please pray for their future and the ministries.
WIDOWS AND OLD AGED MINISTRY:
   In India Hinduism requires widows to not remarry and they are actually consider a bad luck. Many are living on the streets due to the stigma of bring bad luck
Where as in order to show the Love of Christ, we desire to HELP THE WIDOWS AND OLD AGED (on monthly basis $.20) who lost their husbands, they are great asset to the Church here; they would be used as vessels which carry the gospel of Jesus Christ.
   As the Lord leads you, please let us know the heart of God for us, Let us together work for the glory of God. We welcome your valuable suggestions and vision for us here in India. We just place our desire in serving the people through our Mission work. Thank you for your willingness to join us to be a great help and support. I pray God renewed our strength through your email and I believe God has a new thing for both of us; He is going to do great and mighty things in India.
MINISTRY TO THE LEPROSY VICTIMS:
   Leprosy disease has eaten up the countless lives; still this disease is prevailing in India. These leprosy victims suffer from every side in the society, economically (the disease would not allow them to work and live) and socially (they are ill treated by the society) and physically (the disease makes them so weak) they can't work; so they beg on street and in the market places, with the begging of money, with the availably of left overs and rotten material they fill their stomachs. Where as these people are the source of Evangelism…there are victims who are Christians who shares the gospel through distributing tracts, and books lets in the streets while begging for their livelihood. And it is our desire to help such people's families with monthly ration and some amount of monies. We need your support for this ministry.

Church worship began with 25 faithful members of the Lord's body in 1995. The town Jahanian was a strong place for Pentecostal church (in their view). We STRONGLY believe the God's word is perfect and the ONLY WAY for our salvation, guidance and every thing.

In 2000 we started our ministry Believers Of Christ Ministry Of Pakistan, a church for Christians to assemble and worship God. We do serve in the Southern Part of Punjab, Pakistan, (Multan, Mian-Channu, Jahanian, Khanewal, Chichawatni, Faisalabad Toba Tek Singh Vehari,Dunapur,Mailsi,Chishtia,etc). The congregation is 1000 of the Lord's body now. Here people here only the God's word. "We speak where Bible speaks and silent where the Bible is silent." We do not like big bosses who became a threat to the autonomy of the church here in Pakistan.

The Bible tells us that "God is Love" (1 John 4:8)God is Love, and His love is very different from human love. God's love is unconditional, and it's not based on feelings or emotions. He doesn't love us because we're lovable or because we make Him feel good; He loves us because He is love. He created us to have a loving relationship with Him, and He sacrificed His own Son (who also willingly died for us) to restore that relationship. John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you and who hate you ! In that way you will be acting as true sons of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much. If you are friendly only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even the heathen do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. (TLB, Matthew 5:43-48)

Anger consumes with hatred and block out the love of God and it depreciates wisdom ,it increases folly. Whether between parent and child, spouses, friends, or nations, expressions of anger divides and drives toward open hostility. More often than not, angry feelings are based on a misinterpretation of what someone said or did. A grudge clouds negative judgment in the heart of Men and it is from the pit of hell.

Jesus said to forgive and forget. We should always be willing to forgive others, even if our thought is clouded with misinterpretation or clouded heart we need to fulfil the scriptures even when they don't ask for forgiveness. Holding a grudge have no place in the lives of those who truly love their neighbors. Jesus calls us to remember that we are all God's children. Just as He loves all His people and is willing to forgive their sins, we should be willing to forgive also. GOD does not hold to His children past if they repent because He is Love so therefore since we are Christ Image we should give Love and pray for one another also pray for sinners in your neighbourhood for them to repent and inherit the Kingdom of GOD.It is not the pleasure of GOD for anyone to perish but to inherit the Kingdom of GOD.Amen.

Praise the Lord that in Metro Kidz the children have been getting reached
Weekly and not only the children but also through visiting the families

three more parents came to the Lord this week!
Yesterday also the whole group came to clean Maracana because of all
trash that the people throw close to the area where we do Metro Kidz for
the children we know that it affects the breathing and health so the
interns decided to be an example to the community and clean the area
hoping that the community will learn and help in keeping that area clean
For the good of the health of the children and all.
Many were amazed and happy to see this initiative that we took,
Hopefully they wont spread the trash in the area anymore and have a
conviction in them, if they do we have done our part and will move to

another place near that area to continue with Metro Kidz.
Keep us in your prayers that we may continue to be used by the Lord to
make a difference in the communities of Peru by our example!

   KAIROS MINISTRIES INDIA

"Kairos" is an ancient Greek word meaning the “right or opportune moment”. It is now used in theology to describe the qualitative form of time. In rhetoric kairos is “a passing instant when an opening appears which must be driven through with force if success is to be achieved”. (E.C. White, Kaironomia p.13) in theology.

In the New Testament kairos means ‘the appointed time in the purpose of God’ the time when God acts (E.g. Mark 1:15) the kairos is fulfilled’. It differs from the more usual word for time which is chronos (kronos).

In the interpretation of History, Lutheran theologian Paul Tillich made prominent use of the term. For him, the kairoi are those crises in history which create an opportunity for, and indeed demand, an existential decision by the human subject- the coming of Christ being the prime example.

Jesus also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, “It is going to rain “, and so it happens. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time (the kairos)?”Luke.12:54, 56

And what dose the Lord requires of you? But to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God’.Micah.6:8.Rooting our hope in God and confessing our temptation to despair, we dare to speak boldly because we believe that kairos demands it.

War, hunger, poverty and ecological degradation- when we pick up the newspaper and read the signs of the times, it is a perplexing and sobering experience. In this complex world interpreting the present time without confusion or despair is an immense challenge. And as people of faith, not only Are we to see and judge, but to dare to act for justice—a task ever more urgent and yet ever more risky and demanding. It we are to discern wisely, speak boldly, and act decisively, where we find our hope and strength?

Who will be our companions?

Hope comes as “God’s gift to us as we envision, seek, work, embody and pray for justice in a broken world”. As an Ester people who believe in Christ resurrected, despair, and even death can ever be considered the last word. In each moment of discernment and choice, there is opportunity as well as crisis, optimism as well as despair, life as well as death.

When we respond to kairos, God’s special moment of grace, truth and decision—with wise and faithful action for justice, we find our place with “friend of God, and prophets”(Wisdom.7:27). Each word of truth, each act of solidarity and each step of justice, reinforces hope and nurtures the movement of people that will make ‘another world possible’. Kairos the word is an invitation to action. May God bless you all thank you.

For all the scientists out there, and for all the students who have a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible, here's something tha t shows God's awesome creation, and that He is still in control.

Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called 'myth' in the Bible is true?

Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore, Maryland, and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development.

'I think one of the most amazing things that God has done for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Green Belt, Maryland

They were checking out where the positions of the sun, moon, and planets would be 100 years and 1,000 years from now. We have to know this so we won't send up a satellite and have it bump into something later on in its orbits.

We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down.

They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries, and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong with either the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards.

They called in the service department to check it out, and they said, 'What's wrong?' Well, they found there is a day missing in space in elapsed time.

They scratched their heads and tore their hair out. There was no answer.

Finally a Christian man on the team said, 'You know, one time I was in Sunday School, and they talked about the sun standing still.' While they didn't believe him, they didn't have an answer either, so they said, 'Show us, '

He got a Bible and went to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with 'common sense.'

There they found the Lord saying to Joshua,

'Fear them not, I have delivered them into thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before Thee..'

Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy! And if darkness fell, they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That's right... 'The sun stood still and the moon stayed and lasted not to go down about a whole day!'

(Joshua 10:12-13)

The astronauts and scientists said, There is the missing day! They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua's day was 23 hours and 20 minutes. not a whole day.

They read the Bible, and there it was about [approximately] a day. These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes, you'll still be in trouble 1000 years from now.

Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplie d many times over in orbits. As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS.

The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings that told of the following story: Hezekiah, on his death bed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said 'Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?'

Hezekiah said, 'It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees.' Isaiah spoke to the Lord, and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD! Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes!'

Twenty-three hours and 20 minutes in Joshua, plus 40 minutes in Second Kings make the missing day in the universe! Isn't it amazing?

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away

from you: let them walk. I don't want you to try to talk another person into

staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see

you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your

destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be

made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt

they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if

they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means

that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's

part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you

something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I

believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and

I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it

takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to

you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ......

LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see

your worth.....

LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you.

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and

revenge......

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or

addiction......

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your

We thank you for this special time of reflection of what You have done this past year, and for what You have in store for us this coming year! You have blessed us with many answers to prayer. You have kept Barack Obama and his family safe and secure while promoting him to the highest leadership position in the USA. We thank You for all your blessings, for each and every person who supported his candidacy, for the many faithful believers who prayed for Barack, for the many who donated their time and money to make it possible. We believe that You have a plan for our nation, a plan to prosper and bless the USA under Barack's leadership. We thank You for provision of food, gas and electricity to heat and cool our homes, for transportation, for running water, for friends and family. Most of all, we are thankful that You are our God, our blessed Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally. Thank You for comforting us in our times of sorrow, for healing us when we are sick, for carrying us when we feel we just cannot go another step, and for bringing people into our lives who we can love and who will love us back. We are so grateful for the Obama Prayer Team. Thank You, Father, for providing us the rock of our salvation, Jesus Christ. Why Should God Bless You?

A sermon on Psalm 67 by Coty Pinckney, Community Bible Church, Williamstown, MA 7/28/02

How many of you would like God to bless your life? Should you ask God to bless your life? Or is that selfish?

Bruce Wilkinson’s bestselling book, The Prayer of Jabez, elaborates on an obscure figure mentioned in 1 Chronicles, arguing that we should seek God’s blessing always. In 1 Chronicles 4:10 we read,

Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!" And God granted what he asked.

Why did God grant what Jabez asked? What is the reason for God's blessing?

There are many ways we can answer that question with Scriptural support: He loves his people. He delights to do them good. He is good.

But there’s one fundamental reason that God blesses His people, and this reason is closely related to the missionary calling of the church. Today’s text, Psalm 67, gives us that reason.

During this morning’s message, we’ll consider three questions about the Psalm. Here is the first:
Why Should God Bless You?

This Psalm begins in a way that sounds similar to prayer of Jabez (actually, it more closely echoes the blessing that Aaron and his descendants said over the people of Israel, as recorded in Numbers 6) - but Psalm 67 goes deeper than the prayer of Jabez, telling us why God blesses his people. Let’s look at the first two verses of the Psalm:

God be gracious to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us -- Selah. 2 That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations.

The Psalmist asks for blessing so that God’s ways may be known on the earth. The Psalmist is saying, in effect, "Bless me, so that I might glorify you; bless me so that I might show your power, your love, your majesty, your goodness to all nations.”

Note that the Psalmist is not saying:

· He is not saying, “Bless me so that I can be comfortable.”

· He is not saying, “Bless me so that I don’t have to work hard to make a living.”

· He is not saying, “Bless me so that others will be envious of me.”

· He is not saying, “Bless me so that I can be successful in the eyes of the world.”

· Now listen carefully: He is not even primarily saying, “Bless me so that I can bless others.”

I thank you God; I praise you for who you are and all you have done in my life. I thank you for the encouragement that the election of Barack Obama has brought in to my life….. I ask you God to help me to continue to work, to push, to organize, to be an example of the change we need in this country.

I pray to you oh God for a special blessing on all the people who have come together to build a new team of leaders and builders, thinkers and planners who will guide this country in the new administration. Give them wisdom and understanding and a true spirit of HOPE to bring real CHANGE.

Dear God, help us to see that we must love and help each other, that our living must be an example of your love for all of us manifested in our actions. Help us to live our faith everyday of the week in all we do.

Please God send a special shield of protection over the Obama and Biden families, keep them safe from harm, and increase their wisdom and compassion. Guide them as you would have them be for your glory!

be broken in this country. There are still some deep-

churches, even when it's hard and the things our
friends say can be absurd, let's march on with love
and truth in our hearts patiently, and prayerfully
waiting for Jesus to work our Republican church friends over.
I believe with Jesus working through all of us, we can
bring change to our churches that will attract
multitudes of sinners and spiritually bankrupt people

For too long have people stayed out of church because of the hatred

something for all of us. No longer do I want it to be us

your commandment to Love one another. No more

joyously leap into the offering plate and commit
everything we have to furthering your Kingdom on

SUFFERING

When Jesus healed the woman in Matthew 9, He told her that her faith had made her well. He was also saying to her, "You're very special to me,daughter. I know you don't have anything to offer me; I know you've been rejected by society, but your Father had not fogotten you." Our Savior says the same to us when we need His healing hand.

Jesus and His disciples saw a blind man while walking down the road. The disciples said, "Jesus, who sinned?" Jesus said, "No one sinned." Then Jesus healed the man. And He eternally answered that our pain is not a result of our sin. God is not so small that He would zap us for making a mistake. This passage teaches just the opposite: Our Savior is not asleep; Jesus is alive and interested in our pain.

We have a Father who is filled with compassion, a feeling Father who hurts when His children hurt. We serve a God who says that even when we're under pressure and feel like nothing is going to go right, He's waiting for us, to embrace us whether we succeed or fail.

He doesn't come quarreling and wrangling and forcing His way into anyone's heart. He comes into our hearts like a gentle lamb, not a roaring lion.

FATHER, forgive us for the times that we have questioned you; forgive us for the times we have doubted you; forgive us for the times we've shaken our heads and pounded our fists against the earth and cried, "Where are you?" For Father, we know that you have been here ...you've carried us through the valley and you've given us strength. AMEN!

I have combined prayers from Aziza, Tsitsi, Clarenda and others to come up with this prayer for the debates. I will be using it for many prayers beyond the debate and modifying it to fit the situation as I find the words to be very inspiring. I wanted to share this with you in case you like it and want to use it to. Here it is:

The LORD, the Mighty One in Battle. Jehovah, covenant keeping God. Hallowed be Thy holy name. Lord of Host. Captain of the Armies of Heaven. Our Creator. Our loving Father - we give You all the praise. We give You all the glory. We give You all the honor. We give You the Power.

The One who parts the mighty ocean with Your breath. The One who can kill and make alive. The Rock of Ages, Master Shepherd. O, King of Glory. All the nations adore You. All living things bear witness to Your rule. We behold the splendor of Your throne. We bow before You LORD. We submit entirely to Your will. We return the Glory to You.

Lord, we stand in the gap for the Nation and for Your servant Barack Obama. At a time like this when the peace and security and prosperity of our great country is threatened, our children's future is unsure, LORD we turn to You and take the authority that Jesus gave to us, we claim the land for You and pray that only Your will be done in this election.

Lord, we reclaim the White House for You. We claim the Oval office for Barack Obama. We declare that all forces in opposition to Your will in this presidential election be defeated and Your will be done in the White House.

My Lord,
What a journey this has become! We thank you for your presence and direction as we travel this long hard road to victory in November. Lord we thank you for the sense of peace you have given us in the midst of this storm. We thank you for the wisdom you have given our future president Barack Obama. In the midst of this turmoil Barack has responded with calm, wisdom and peace which we know comes from you. We asked for transparency and truth and Lord once again you have answered our prayers. We see the responses of both men to our financial mess and each day the eyes of America are being opened to the temperament and leadership style of each man. Lord this crisis is showing the true character of each man in a way no commercial or debate could ever do. Father all I can say is thank you! Thank you for allowing us to share in the bringing forth of your will here on earth. Tonight we continue to hold up the campaign before you and ask for your
protection and blessings. We ask that our territory continue to increase and more and more people will be set free from the lies and deception of the McCain campaign. We pray for power and strength and a clear mind for Barack as he meets with President Bush to discuss the financial mess. Lord let him side step any traps or snares they lay before him to trip him up. Let the vicious smears and evil ads being launched against him fail. Let not this latest ploy interrupt Barack's preparation for the debate but let him speak clearly with power and wisdom on Friday night. Open the ears of America and our hearts to accept the leader you have chosen for us. Keep us on our knees before you, protect us from the evil one.

This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen and is so true:

I dreamed that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received."

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many
angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and
scraps from people all over t he world..

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section
The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to t he living persons who asked for them. "I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment
Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed "How is it that there is no work going on here?" I asked
.
"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings
that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments."

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked.

"Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge? " I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If
you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy."

"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in
the world who has that opportunity. "

illness... You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day."

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of

Psalm 52 seems to have been written as a prophecy concerning today's talk-radio hate mongers:

We must pray and fast vigilantly and faithfully as God has called us to do. But we need not fret or rail against these people; it only leads to our taking our eyes off of God. That is not to say that we should not sign petitions or speak up as our conscience leads. And in doing or not doing so, we humbly know that God has it all in His hands and He will deal with the mockers and the liars in His way and His time.

Thank you, Lord, that only by Your grace and not any insight or intelligence or any good quality of ours, You have shone your light on us and rescued us from this world and all of its evil vying, loathing, sneering and mocking. We pray for every person who hears the vicious words and attacks that are burdening us. We know that untruths have no real power, but Lord, we also acknowledge that all people, even we who have received your truth, can be easily led astray because of our weakness. Lord, we pray that those who are spewing venom, and those who are hearing it, will see that it is darkness and death, and turn away from it. Protect all of your people and lead us into your truth and your light. Amen.

Forgiven

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. And he was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods, but he could never hit the target. And getting a little discouraged; he headed back to dinner.

As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head, and killed it. He was shocked and grieved.In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile, only to see his sister watching.

Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing. After lunch that day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes."But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "remember the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.

Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, "I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper." But Sally just smiled and said "Well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help." She whispered again, "remember the duck?" So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug, and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But because I love you, I forgave you, I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."

Thought for the day: whatever is in your past, whatever you have done and the enemy keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, debt, fear, hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, etc.)whatever it is, you need to know that Jesus Christ was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the enemy make a slave of you.

The great thing about God is that He not only forgives you, but He forgets.
Go ahead and make the difference in someone's life today. Share this with a family member or friend. Remember, that Jesus is at the window.
